Background : Featured area, Gokusho town is an area possesses temples and shrines handed down from generation to generation the history of Hakata, Fukuoka City. For watching the charm of historical landscape of the town by many visitors, landscape lighting for gates, halls and gardens of each temple was made and the project could succeed to emerge up the solemn shapes and elegant beauty at night.
Basic concept to respect three faces of temples:
1. "Holy face" to protect the world of God that common people never entered in
2. "Extraordinary face" to pass special life such as courtesy ceremony, fest and annual events
3. "Ordinary face" familiarized by people as a part of area's living
