Tenjin Central Park, which is connected to Tenjin-Hakata, is most well known as the park where the Kihinkan is located. At night many people pass through the park, however they rarely spend much time there. The illumination of Kihinkan is therefore one of the main focuses of the new lighting plan, the other being the clear lighting of the approach flows from each direction. In total, this lighting plan allows the park to be reborn as a new symbol of Fukuokaʼs downtown area. Most of the lighting fixtures are installed at a low level so that their light will not interfere with the main lighting around Kihinkan, ensuring it remains the focus. This low level lighting also ensures that visitors can easily sit and stay in a relaxing and well-lit atmosphere. The area around Tenjin Central Park is famous as a symbolic night scene of Fukuoka. The new lighting of the Deaibashi Bridge places it in harmony with this spectacular night-scape. Overall, the lighting plans for Tenjin Central Park enhance the original function of the park, both by connecting the various directions, and by creating a mesmerizing night view.
