Located by a calm riverside in Kitakyushu, Kokura Daiichi Hospital supports the full reintegration of dialysis patients into society. The architecture opens toward the river, and the spacious dialysis room offers peaceful views and a sense of openness without patients facing each other. The lighting design ensures a glare-free, relaxing environment for long treatment sessions. Indirect lighting is integrated into the architecture, with individual lights for each bed and chair. Light levels and color temperatures are adjustable by time and area, supporting comfort and rest. At night, the building’s soft glow creates a warm and welcoming presence in the community.
